Manchester based electronic solicitor Damu recently released his excellent Mermaid EP on Local Action and is now prepping its follow up for bass forerunners Keysound Recordings. His tracks rarely drop below the 130, combining a foot-working repetition with a playful latin-club edge that seems to be soundtracking some nonexistent, totally apeshit underwater kingdom. If you are planning on standing around and looking thoughtful while discussing the merits of electronic muisc with your friend you have no reason to come to this.
Slime, aka 19 year old producer, multi-instrumentalist and frequent Vondelpark collaborator Will Archer is undoubtedly an uncommon talent. Employing a varied arsenal of live and analogue instrumentation he creates fragile, sublimely emotive sound polaroids in steady, rhythmic motion that marry stark, classically informed textures with a bouncy, cut-and-paste production technique. Expect a wide-ranging set that echoes this fascinatingly eclectic aesthetic.
Brighton newcomers Regal Safari have quickly come to attention with their icy spells of sparkling, gorgeous electronics. Their recently unveiled R G L S F R EP trails loose, pensive dubstep soundscapes populated by swirling synths and crisp snares with a steady directing hand, and you can expect that very same hand to be as steady in its selection of tunes for the night just for you.
