Naomi Punk

“Gargoyles” (no I’m not gonna link it, do you want me to wipe your ass too while I’m at it? Just kidding, love you) was a cartoon for kids but it had a plot line to behold. Not your regular cartoon “every episode resets itself”, but an actual developing plot-line, where the characters and circumstances change in an ongoing process. The kind of plot line that requires viewer loyalty, much like a soap opera. It started with: “previously on Gargoyles…” as sometimes they’d have to go back 2 seasons to give you information pertinent to understanding the current episode. That is a lot to ask for from a kid watching, who barely even knows who he is yet. DDW doesn’t really have a traditional ‘plot-line’. It’s more of a non-linear series of happenings and apparitions. But we can sometimes return to the past unexpectedly to the great amusement and bewilderment of spectators. So to understand the current episode of DDW you’d have to harken back to a much earlier plot line when we posted a band called Naomi Punk and went on some ridiculously unwarranted anti-colonialist rant (I’m not gonna link that either, what the fuck do you think this is? Haha <3 <3 <3). This was like 3 seasons ago when we were still filming in Burbank and before shit went syndicated. We’re gonna insert this plot-twist just cos we can. Okay you got me there is an ulterior motive. We want to bring back old viewers by re-inserting a beloved character from the past, i.e “Kimberly, I thought you died in the car crash”. This always means trouble as it implies newer characters aren’t clicking with a new generation, and the script writers, in a desperate attempt to bring back former grandeur, give up on the young and return to the old by recycling previous materials. Basically, if you haven’t gotten it yet, this whole entire post is a cry for help.
